DSN stands for Decentralized Social Network — built to compete with Facebook. Instead of central servers and staring at a screen, you meet the people around you in real life.

How it works

Think of it like a white t-shirt with a message written on it — saying you're single and looking for people interested in travel and space. Except it's private, digital, and only the right people get the signal.

Set who you are

Configure, on your own device, who you are and what you're looking for in other people. You decide what to share.

Broadcast by Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to broadcast and listen — locally, with no central server and no data harvesting.

Get matched nearby

When someone in proximity has compatible parameters, you're notified that the person you're looking for is close by.

Look up and talk

Make eye contact and talk to strangers. So what if it's the wrong person? Look around you — not at your screen.

Private by design

There are no central servers and no data harvesting. Data is never stored anywhere except on your own phone. In compliance with the EU GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), no data is retained by the app creators — only by users on their devices. Encryption is used. Roadmap

This is a trial version of the app. With funding and support, we want to:

  1. Wearable support — work with Bluetooth devices like the Xiaomi Mi Band, Galaxy Watch and headphones, so you're notified without needing to look at your phone.
  2. End-to-end encryption — encrypt data packages end to end, so no one can reverse-engineer or decrypt who you are and what you're looking for.
  3. Marketing — reach more people so there are more potential matches around you.
  4. iPhone version — bring DSN EyeContact to Apple iOS.

Strangers don't bite

Staring at your phone all day isn't healthy. With DSN EyeContact you meet people in real life. Maybe you'll get it wrong, maybe you'll say hi to someone who doesn't even have Eye Contact installed — so what, no harm done. You can still talk, you can still meet someone. We want to repair how people interact in public spaces. Instead of sitting hunched over a screen growing a stoop, look for eye contact and start a conversation — at the bus stop, in a club, with the people around you. DSN EyeContact is the alternative to Facebook for meeting new people in real life — without selling your privacy.
